A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Rebecca "Becky" Ann Martin on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Leo The Great Catholic Church in Leonville. Burial will follow in the St. Leo Catholic Cemetery in Leonville.

Rebecca Ann Martin, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Opelousas on August 6, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family during her final moments.

Born on October 22, 1955 in Eunice to Kirby and Eve Reed, Rebecca brought joy and compassion into the lives of all who knew her. She was the cherished sister of Bobby Reed and Mary Lou Vige (Harry). Her family meant the world to her, and she shared many beautiful memories with them.

Rebecca's spirit was kind-hearted and gentle. With a warm smile and a nurturing nature, she touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Her legacy will live on through her dear husband David Martin of Opelousas and their children: Regina M. Guidroz (Randall) of Port Barre, Angela Bearb (Chad) of Rayne, Lacey Disotell (Bryan) of Krotz Springs, and Heather Martin of Opelousas.

She shared a strong bond with her brother Tee Reed (Debbie) of Eunice and sister-in-law Joanne Reed of Eunice. Rebecca found great joy in being a grandmother to Kayla Guidroz, Mollie Benoit (Kyle), Trent Bearb Hailey Guidroz, Lil Bryan Disotell, Brennan Disotell, Dax Basco, and Eve Bearb. Her heart overflowed with love for her great-grandchildren Ryleigh Benoit and Allie Lanclos.

Rebecca's family and friends were always at the center of her life. She treasured the moments spent together, creating lasting memories filled with love, laughter, and joy. Her compassion knew no bounds, and she often went out of her way to help those in need.

In her free time, Rebecca enjoyed tending to her flower garden, taking long walks in nature, and cooking delicious meals for her loved ones. Her homemade Cajun dishes were a testament to her talent in the kitchen.

Rebecca Ann Martin will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. The impact she made on their lives will never be forgotten. As we celebrate her life and mourn her passing, let us remember the joy she brought to us, the love she shared with us, and let us find solace in knowing that she is at peace.

Rest peacefully, dear Rebecca. May your soul find eternal happiness as you reunite with loved ones who have gone before you. Your memory will forever be etched in our hearts.

Pallbearers will be Trent Bearb, Kyle Beniot, Tee Reed, Joey Reed, Cameron Doucet, Randall Guidroz.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dax Basco, Brent Stermer, Lil Bryan Disotell and Brennan Disotell.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 8, 2023 from10:00 a.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m. the wake will continue all night until time of service on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
