Opelousas Funeral services for Raymond Patrick Nolan, age 67, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2011, in St. Landry Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.
Father Jim Brady will be the celebrant for the Mass.
Raymond passed a away on June 8, 2011 in Our Lady of Lourdes in Lafayette, he was a member of American Legion of Opelousas, Elks Lodge 1048 , Texas and La., Fishing Rodeo, Kraft Lake Hunting Club, brother hood of the eagles of Birmingham, Alabama. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, he loved being with his friends and family doing the things he enjoyed most in life. He was a very loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend to many people who in turn loved him for the person he was. He will be sadly missed by all.
Survivors included his loving wife, Dorthy Stelly Nolan of Opelousas, his daughter, Rona Lynn Nolan Magallanes of Denham Springs, and sister, Peggy Nolan Domingue of Lafayette.
Preceded by his parents his parents, Joseph and Marjorie Pitre Nolan, sister, Mary Nolan Mayers, brother, Robert Nolan, and one grandson, Dustine Freeman.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Thursday evening in the Funeral Home.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home, on Thursday, June 9, 2011, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. and will reopen on Friday May 10, 2011 at 8 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m.
