Grand Coteau A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013, at St. Charles Catholic Church for Mr. Ray Tate. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery. Rev. Steven Kimmons, S.J. will celebrate the Mass.
Ray was a native of Lafayette and a resident of Church Point, LA. He passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at his home at the age of 51. Ray was a member of LA. Horseman Assocation, a volunteer fireman in Grand Coteau. Ray enjoyed working with racing horses he loved all horses no matter what the breed. He loved Indian Artifacts. He loved fishing dearly. He was a loving father, and grand father. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his mother, Anna Lee Stelly Tate of Grand Coteau, his companion, Theresa McGee of Church Point, his sons, B.J. Tate and wife, Jami of Church Point, Kenneth Bud Tate of Conrad, Iowa, daughters, Nicole Bihm and husband, Robbie of Scott, and Jonnie Tate of Eldora Iowa, brothers, Randy Tate and wife, Patricia of Breaux Bridge,and Shane Tate and his companion, Scott Curry of Sunset, sisters, Brenda Kennerson and her husband, Perry of Grand Coteau, and Rhonda Stelly of Grand Coteau, five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Tate.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Grand Coteau on Monday, July 15, 2013, from 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning in the funeral home.
