Raphael Trosclair

Leonville- Graveside Funeral services for Raphael James Trosclair will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016, in the St. Leo the Great Cemetery in Leonville. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the St. Leo the Great Cemetery. Rev. Msgr. Keith J. DeRouen will conduct the services.

Raphael was a native and life long resident of Opelousas. He passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at his home at the age of 81. He was a Veteran who proudly served his country in the Navy and Air Force. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He retired from the St. Landry Parish School Board with over 30 years of service as a warehouse coordinator. He was a parishioner at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Etheleen "Leen" Hayes Trosclair of Opelousas; one son, Raphael Raoul Trosclair and wife, Aimee of Lafayette; and one grandson, Payton James Trosclair of Hiawatha, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ramon Rafe "Bubba" Trosclair; his parents, Jules Sidney Trosclair and Maude Richard Trosclair; two sisters and four brothers.
