Randall Francis Myers

Opelousas Memorial services for Mr. Randall Francis Myers, age 57, will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2008, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Angelo Cremaldi will conduct the service.

Mr. Randall was born in Opelousas and lived his life here. He made his journey with the Lord at 1:15 p.m. on Monday, August 4, 2008, at his home surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Myers fought a 7 year battle with cancer but at no point gave up but always kept a courageous face during the battle.

Mr. Myers was a machinist by trade, working at Cary Iron Works for 33 years. Randall was an avid hunter and fisherman. One of Randall's greatest loves was riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include his daughters; Amy Lynn Veillon and husband Neal, Brusly, La., Shanon Marie LaComb and husband Michael of Pecaniere, La.; brother, Chris Myers, Opelousas; sister, Lynn Dion and her husband Mickey of Gootlesville, Tn. and 4 grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Veillon of Brusly and Gabrielle and Harlie LaComb of Pecaniere, La. Mr. Myers also is survived by a handful of nieces and nephews; Staci Bearb, Scott, Sean and Tanner Myers all of Opelousas.

Preceded in death by his parents: Alvin Bubba and Verna Miller Myers and a brother Bruce Myers.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, August 7, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Mike Burnell for the wonderful care given to Randall during his illness; also to Kris Fazio and the staff of Hospice In His Care in Baton Rouge. Thank you to Elaine Leger and the staff of La. Hospice and Palative Care of Opelousas. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Tx in memory of Randall Myers.
