Preston Leger, Jr.

OpelousasFuneral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2013, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel for Preston Leger, Jr. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pastor Vinson Tullos, Pastor Michael Orange, Pastor Darrell Orange will officiate the service.

Preston was a native of Opelousas and was currently a resident of Orange, Texas. He passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013, at St. Michaels System, at the age of 68. Preston was raised by his grandmother Mrs. Artheus Elia Leger after his mother passed away.

Preston was the definition of a father. He loved his children and grandchildren with everything he had, and showed it in everything he did. There was no task too hard that he wouldnt do to make sure his children were taken care of and provided for. His love was strong and true, it was sincere and ever lasting. He loved time with his family and loved seeing them happy. He would gladly do without to ensure his kids and grandkids were content, no matter the circumstance. On birthdays and holidays he loved to build his gifts with his hands, and he loved to see the people enjoy them. He was charismatic and rarely without a story or joke to tell. He loved to cook and laugh and make people happy. He was a hard worker until the day of his death, and a well respected man throughout and after his life.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Stephenson Leger of Orange, TX., his children, Charles Pate Leger of Orange Texas, Jeremiah Cade Leger of Orange, TX., Racheal Herpin and husband, Andre of Opelousas, Shawnee Leger of Opelousas, Casey Leger of Opelousas, and Summer Moore and husband, Logan of Orange, TX., brothers, Henry Leger and wife, Margaret of Leonville, sisters, Wilda Cosgrove of Opelousas, and Peggy Dupuis of Houma, LA., grandchildren. Kamin Zerangue, Kaley Barron, Kelsey Lauchner, Layne Herpin, Chase Romero, Chance Romero, Tanner Herpin, Landon Moore, Carter Leger, Lincoln Moore, Shelby Moore, one great grandchild, Chandler David.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Enola Boone Leger, Sr., one son, David Shawn Leger, one brother, Joseph Pate Leger.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, November 29, 2013, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Saturday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m.
