Philip Zernott, Jr.

Washington: A Funeral Service will be held for Philip Joseph Zernott, Jr., at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2020, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Fr. Matthew Higginbotham will conduct the service. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Philip, age 74, a resident of Washington, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020.

Philip served in the Vietnam War and received several medals, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/2 Bronze Service Stars; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Sharpshooter (Rifle); Combat Infantryman Badge; Army Commendation Medal.

He is survived by his by numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Philip Joseph Zernott and Marie Albertes Doucet, grandparents, Daly “Cat” Joseph Doucet and Annie Margret Darcey, Phillip Zernott and Marie Suzanne Gibson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a rosary at 11:45 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas.
