Port Barre- Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at the Courtableau Baptist Church, for Mr. Phelton Joseph Arnaud, Sr., known to many as "Myo". Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington. Rev. Keith Davidson will officiate the services.
Myo was a native and longtime resident of Port Barre. He passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Lafayette General Medical Center at the age of 81. He was a farmer and was a retired tool pusher from the oilfield industry. He loved playing the guitar, listening to music, and playing pool. He enjoyed being outdoors while fishing.
He will be sadly missed by his children, family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Ricky, Daniel, Marvin, and Shane Arnaud all of Port Barre; Phelton Arnaud, Jr. and wife, Angie of Sunset; Peggy Sylvester and husband, Bennie of Washington; Cheryl Kassing and husband, Edward of The Woodlands, TX; Vanessa Domingue and husband, Neil of Lafayette; and Trudie Fontenot and husband, Tony of Washington; twenty seven grandchildren, and thirty-two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorena Arnaud; his parents, Phelocles Arnaud and Eva Guillory Arnaud; his son, Billy Joe Arnaud and his wife, Sue Arnaud; sisters, Jesslyn A. Richard, Evelyn Williamson, and Billie Sweeney; brothers, Murphy Arnaud and Paul Peck Elliot Arnaud; and one grandson, Jordan Arnaud.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, from 12:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. On Wednesday, July 22, 2015, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
