Percy Menard

Grand Coteau Funeral services for Mr. Percy Joseph Menard, age 72, will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Charles Catholic Church in Grand Coteau. Interment will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery. Father James Lambert will celebrate the Mass.

Mr. Percy passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, April 2, 2012, at his home in Sunset. He was a U. S. Army National Guard Veteran who proudly served his country. He served many years in the Reserves. He was a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed cooking and having family gatherings.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Jane Broussard Menard of Sunset two brothers, Louis Elie Lantier and Martin Lantier, both of Sulphur four sisters, Hilda L. Richard of Lake Charles Bertha L. Faul of Rayne Edith Lantier of Bayou Vista and Hazel Ewing of Shreveport and a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Lantier and Ida Prejean Lantier, his adopted parents, Elenor Menard and Vivian Bourque Menard one sister, Verdie Guillory and three halfbrothers.

Pallbearers will be Cody Higginbotham, Brian Higginbotham, Wayne Hollier, Brandon Hollier, Scott Lavergne, and Elvis Broussard.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, from 1 pm to 9 pm in the Sibille Funeral Home of Grand Coteau. On Wednesday, visitation will continue from 8 am until 3:00 pm in the funeral home. A Rosary service will be held at 7 pm on Tuesday evening in the funeral home.
