Port Barre Funeral services for Mrs. Penny Ann Soileau, age 60, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 7, 2011, in the United Methodist Church of Port Barre. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre.
Rev. Ted Fine will officiate the services.
Penny was a native of Waterloo, Iowa. She was also a longtime resident of Port Barre. She died on Thursday, February 3, 2011, in the Oschner Medical Center in New Orleans.
She was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time outdoors doing yard work, growing flowers, playing music, singing, writing poetry, helping anyone who needed her help or assistance. She was also known as a true Christian in every sense of the word. She was a very good and loving wife of 43 years, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew and loved her. She was also a true angel among us.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Gene Soileau of Port Barre mother, Louisa Broadersen Ziegler of Kingston, Arizona two sons: Anthony James Soileau of Washington and Brandon Jon Soileau of Port Barre five daughters: Melinda and Brian Meche of Port Barre Billie and Jeff Reece of Carthage, Tennessee Anita and Lionel Crouchet, Jr. of Port Barre Jennifer and Davy Rollins, Sr. of Hot Springs, Arkansas Nicole and Donavan Coates of Krotz Springs one brother, Frank Turner of Chloride, Arizona three sisters: Theresa Murray of Port Ludlow, Washington Linda Turner of Brennan, Washington and Linda Delcambre of Krotz Springs
20 grandchildren: Brittany Baby Doll Soileau, Daryll Deville, Jr., Aaron Soileau, Victoria Soileau, Rael Byrne, Kimberly Kimmy Soileau, Rachel Soileau, Lucas Byrne, Davy Bubba Rollins, Jr., Samantha Sam Deville, Christopher Chris Deville, Sophia Soileau, Andr Soileau, Nicholas Nick Soileau, Anne Marie Annie Soileau, Anthony Tony Soileau, Jr., and Olivia JoJo Soileau and 3 greatgrandchildren: Deandre Soileau, Gabbrelle Gabby Soileau, and Charleigh Savoie.
She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Turner one son, Andy Bug James Soileau and one grandchild, Iesha Nicole Soileau.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Sunday, February 6, 2011, beginning at 4 p.m. with an all night wake until the time of services on Monday.
A Prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evening in the funeral home. The Eulogy will be given by the family following the prayer service.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Soileau, Sr., Anthony Soileau, Sr., Brandon Soileau, Nicholas Soileau, Aaron Soileau, James Soileau, Davy Rollins, Sr., Davy Rollins, Jr., Lucas Byrne, Josh Savoie, Noah Lopez, Donovan Coates, Christopher Deville, and Jessie Guidry. Honorary Pallbearer will be Andr Soileau.
