Pauline Reaux Fulop
Port Barre Funeral services for Pauline Elizabeth Reaux Fulop, age 64, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 9, 2011, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Father Dan Picard will be the celebrant for the Mass.
Pauline was born in 1946 to Charles and Mary Elizabeth Reaux. Pauline was the valedictorian of 1964 at Port Barre High School. She was a 1968 graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science in accounting, where she was the vice president of the Alpha Beta Fraternity. For three and a half years she worked as a financial auditor for the United States General Accounting Office in New Orleans. She was employed as an Inspector General for the Panama Canal Commission for 19 years until she retired in December of 1991 and moved to Port Barre with her family. Pauline was a member of the Panama Canal Society. She was a devoted volunteer for Port Barre High School for thirteen years. Her interests included reading, raising her children, spending time with family and friends, volunteering and traveling.
Survivors include her loving husband of 39 years, Douglas James Fulop of Port Barre mother, Mary Reaux of Port Barre childrenAllison Andrus and husband, Leon of Port Barre Caryn Futch and husband, Jason of Port Barre, and Lisa Fulop of Port Barre, brothersCharles Reaux of Lafayette, Steven Reaux of Eunice, James Norbert Reaux and wife, Helen of Port Barre, and Ned Reaux and wife, Cindy of Chilton, TX two grandchildrenLauren Fulop and Jaylon Andrus and loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Reaux of Port Barre and her grandparents, James Norbert and Rose Arnaud Reaux of Lafayette and Sam and Mayme Pugh Talley of Port Barre.
Her family would like to thank Dr. Giles Fort and the nurses and staff at Womens Hospital of Baton Rouge. Pauline fought a courageous seven year battle against cancer. She will always be remembered.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre, on Sunday, May 8, 2011, from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday evening and will reopen on Monday Morning May 9, 2011, at 8 a.m. until time of service at 11 am.
