Opelousas Funeral services for Mr. Paul Adler Charles, 72, will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.
Father Angelo Cremaldi will conduct the services.
Mr. Charles was a resident of Opelousas and died at 9:33 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2007, in the Opelousas General Health System. He was born in Prairie Ronde and was raised in Plaisance. He worked offshore for many years and volunteered at Senior Village Nursing Home for 10 years. For his pastime, he enjoyed animals.
Survivors include two sisters: Kathleen Labbe and husband, Murray of Opelousas; and Judy Rozas and husband, Terry of Baton Rouge. He also has seven nephews and one niece.
Mr. Charles was preceded in death by his parents: Eraste and Cassie Charles; and one brother, Burton Charles.
Pallbearers will be Ted Labbe, Barry Labbe, Kevin Labbe, Blake Charles, Bart Charles, and Troy Rozas.
Visiting hours will be observed on Monday from 4:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Tuesday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until time of services. A Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home.
