Patrick Fontenot

OpelousasIt is with great sadness to report the passing of Patrick Ray Fontenot. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014, 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, with Fr. Greg Simien officiating.
Patrick, age 54, died Sunday evening, October 19, 2014 at Opelousas General Health System following a long illness. Patrick was a long time employee of Meches Meat Market and Grocery, 18 years, and Richards Cajun Products, 6 years.
Patricks greatest joy included spending time with his family and friends, while enjoying the outdoors, such as BarBQing, working in the yard, camping and going to the beach.
Patrick is survived by his wife of 24 years, Nadine Tate Fontenot, one daughter, Christie Lane Fontenot Veillon and her husband, Ryan, and their two children, Raegan and Landon, of Bayou Chicot, Louisiana. He is also survived by his older sister, Anna Lee Dupre, of Opelousas. Patrick was preceded in death by his young son, his son, Patrick Ray Fontenot, Jr. , by his parents, Abbey Fontenot and Ludae Deville Fontenot, and by an older brother, J.L. Fontenot.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society andor to the local Humane Society.
