Ovie Mcglothlin, Jr.

Opelousas-A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2016, at Sibille Funeral Home Chapel for Ovie V. McGlothlin, Jr. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will conduct the Funeral Service.

Ovie was a resident of Opelousas and died on Friday, July 22, 2016, at his residence, at the age of 67. Ovie was born in Alexandria, La. and entered the U.S. Air Force; he then received his teaching degree and taught in the St. Landry and Lafayette Public School System for 27 plus years until his retirement. Ovie loved all types of sports and refereed football, basketball and softball. For 27 years he taught special education students. Ovie served as a Eucharist Minister at St. Landry Catholic Church. Ovie loved his animals and his family. Ovie was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and is going to be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Ovie is survived by his wife, Patricia McGlothlin of Opelousas; son, Thomas Paul McGlothlin of Opelousas; sister, Joan Wilson and husband Jim of Richardson, TX; half-sister, Yolanda King of Avella, Pa; grandchildren, Annaelise Levay McGlothlin of Chipley, FL and Clover Shae McGlothlin of Opelousas.

Ovie was preceded in death by his parents, Ovie and Anna Bordelon McGlothlin.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas and will reopen on Monday Morning at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evening in the funeral home.
