Olivia Ledoux

OpelousasFuneral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel for Mrs. Olivia Manuel Ledoux, known to many as Bossett. Rev. Father Daniel Picard will officiate the services.
Bossett was a native of Chataignier and a longtime resident of Lawtell. She passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013, at the Acadia St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point, after a long illness at the age of 87. She worked for numerous meat markets in the area for over 18 years. She was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell. She enjoyed spending time in her yard, gardening, and replanting her flowers. She also enjoyed cooking and being with her family and friends.
Survivors include one daughter, Margie Whipp and her companion, Richard Durousseau of Lawtell granddaughter, Tabitha Lane Whipp of Lawtell grandson, Jacob Alexander Whipp of Lawtell one sister, Jane Fontenot and husband, Verlin of Baton Rouge two sistersinlaw, Dora Nell Manuel and Lucille Manuel, both of Opelousas 18 nieces and nephews, and three godchildren, Tasia Fontenot of Baton Rouge Gerald Manuel of Grand Prairie, and Davis Manuel of Chataigner.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Ledoux her parents, Amos and Elda Manuel 5 brothers, Elvin, Wallace, Leroy, Dentry, and Gerald Manuel one sister, Rose LeBlanc grandson, Andy Whipp soninlaw, Roy Whipp former spouse, Abram Brom Ledoux and a special friend, Norris Bo Boy Fontenot.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home.
