Olene Rash Hazlewood

Opelousas-Funeral Services for Mrs. Olene Rash Hazlewood will be conducted at Sibille Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, by her son-in-law, Rev. Roy Baker, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.

Mrs. Olene Rash Hazlewood left Opelousas General Hospital and went to be with Jesus on July 21, 2008. Mrs. Hazlewood was a beloved mother and grandmother and a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Myra Hazlewood Baker and her husband, Roy of Opelousas; a granddaughter, Carrie Olene Tomlinson Weeks and her husband, Jonathan; and their children, William Wesley and Jonathan Bradley, all of Opelousas; and a granddaughter, Natalie Baker Calloway; and her children, Callie Marie and Conner Joe, all of Baton Rouge. Mrs. Hazlewood is survived by two sisters, Nell Horrigan of Grenada, Mississippi; and Geneva Porter of Milton, Florida. She is also survived by three nephews and three nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Worth Hazlewood; her parents, Clifton and Frances Rash of Greenville, Mississippi; and one sister, Lois Chambers, also of Greenville, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Wednesday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
