Ola Matt

Washington Funeral services for Mrs. Ola McDaniel Matt, age 88, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 26, 2008, in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington, followed by interment in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. The Reverend Albert Nunez will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.

Mrs. Matt who was a native of Ville Platte and resident of Washington passed away at 5:10 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2008, at the Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas.

Survivors include her two sons, John Lester Matt and wife Jackie of Washington and Gary Matt of Garland; two daughters, Trudy Vidrine and husband Pat, Jeanette St. Cyr and husband Edward all of Garland; a brother, Aaron McDaniel and wife Lucille of Ville Platte; two sisters, Elmena Deshotel and husband Ellis of Ville Platte and Amy Guillory and husband Rufus of Oakdale; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Onezime Matt; parents, Lester and Marie Savant McDaniel; three brothers, Thad, Andrew, and Burke McDaniel; three sisters, Esabelle Fontenot, Luna Fontenot, and Hilda Stagg.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, May 25, 2008, from 3:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m. and will re-open on Monday from 8 a.m. until the time of services. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.
