Novella Reed

Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Novella Fontenot Reed, age 84, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 18, 2010, in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Mausoleum.
She was a native of Prairie Ronde and a longtime resident of Opelousas. She died on Saturday, October 16, 2010, in the Opelousas General Health System.
She was a member of the antique car club and enjoyed traveling in the motor home. She loved to cook and sharing her lovely cuisine with everyone brought her much joy in her life. She loved her husband, son, daughterinlaw, family and friends very much. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, J.Y. Reed of Opelousas one son, Mark Reed and wife, Riki of Carencro and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Adelan Fontenot and Edna Brown Fontenot two brothers, Wirt Fontenot and Oren Fontenot and two sisters, Bessie Deville and Helen Vives.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, October 16, 2010, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
