Nolan Bertrand

Opelousas- A Funeral Service will be held for Mr. Nolan Bertrand at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2020, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Fr. Austin Leger will conduct the service. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park.

Mr. Nolan, age 81, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Lafayette General Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones.

Mr. Nolan served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was the business manager at John R. Young Chevrolet in Eunice for many years. Mr. Nolan was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. He also loved listening to his favorite country music. Mr. Nolan will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frankie Daigle Bertrand of Opelousas; son, Gary Bertrand and wife, Heather Gill Bertrand of Opelousas; daughter, Joni Bertrand Nezat and husband, Kenny of Madisonville, LA; grandchildren, Cassie Bertrand Mouton and husband, Nick, Taylor Christianson, Kody Christianson and Spencer Nezat; great-grandchildren, Peyton Mouton and Sutton Mouton.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Milton Bertrand and Resa Ardoin Bertrand.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. Fr. Austin Leger will recite the rosary at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Visitation will continue Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
