Nita Louise Richard Hebert

Opelousas- Funeral services for Mrs. Nita Louise Hebert, 79, will be held at 4: 00 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2007, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville. Interment will follow in the St. Leo Cemetery.

Father Ken Domingue will officiate the Mass.

Mrs. Hebert was a native and long-time resident of Opelousas. She died at

8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in the Opelousas General Health System. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, and a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include two sons: Allen Ray Hebert and wife, Marie of Opelousas; and Bobby Glenn Hebert and wife, Ann of Orange, TX; four daughters: Judy Leger and Jerry Hebert of Mamou; Allyson Vidrine and husband, Blaine of Opelousas; Mona Sylvester and husband, Greg of Opelousas; and Billie Joe Vidrine and husband, Turling of Port Barre; one brother, J. V. Richard and wife, Eva of Port Barre; two sisters: Lillie Lalonde and Lena Woodson, both of Opelousas; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was also survived by a special godchild, James Hebert.

Mrs. Nita was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Joseph Hebert, one son, Randy Hebert; her parents: Vouchere and Louise Richard; one grandson Brant Vidrine; one brother, Tim Richard; and two sisters: Yvonne Venable and Geraldine Dugas.

Pallbearers will be Allen Ray Hebert, Glenn Hebert, James Hebert, Blaine Vidrine, Greg Sylvester, and Turling Vidrine. Honorary Pallbearers will be Balaire Sylvester and Jantzen Sylvester.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, October 25, 2007, beginning at 4 p.m. with an all night wake until the time of services on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening.
