Neva Marks

Port Barre- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Neva Marks on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Port Barre. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in OPELOUSAS . The rosary will be recited at 12:00 noon. Fr. Clint Trahan will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will be held in the church cemetery.

Neva, a native of Washington and longtime resident of Port Barre, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the age of 97, at Audubon Health and Rehab in Thibodeaux, surrounded by her loving family.

In her younger years Neva enjoyed traveling with her family, going camping and dancing with her friends. Her hobbies included sewing, tending to her garden, and serving up a home cooked meal for her family and friends. Neva will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Neva is survived by her son, Steve Marks and wife, Tammy of Lakeland, LA; daughter, Donna Devalcourt and husband, Ferrell of Napoleonville, LA; sister, Lenora Robin of Port Barre; sister-in-law, Mildred Hardy of Port Barre; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Neva is preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Marks; sons, Nelson Marks and J.D. Marks; daughter, Barbara Marks; and her parents, Marshall and Lenora Kimble.
