Neal James Lavergne

Opelousas Funeral services for Neal James Lavergne, age 41, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2011, with a service in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the St. Johns Cemetery in Lewisburg.
Howard Varnado and Milton Murphy will conduct the service.
Neal was a native of Lafayette and recently moved to Opelousas after residing in Dallas TX., for eleven years. He died on Thursday, April 21, 2011, in Cade LA.
Neal loved watching Saints and LSU football games, he also enjoyed golf. He loved his grandchildren, and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Billedeaux Lavergne, of Opelousas, his father James Lavergne of Carencro, his mother Nelda Fisher of Opelousas, his children Samantha Nuffer and husband, Brandon of Denver, Colo., Ashley Robinson and husband, Patrick of Stuttgart, Germany, Marvin Arnaud Jr. of Lawtell, LA., Michael James Arnaud of Waxahachie, TX., and Travis Neal Arnaud of Waxahachie, TX., brothers Dennis Lavergne, his wife, Alice of Vacaville, CA., Timothy Lavergne of Palmdale, CA., and Benjamin Lavergne, of Carencro, sisters Daphne Lavergne, of Opelousas, and Sarah Clingan of Opelousas, six grandchildren and a host nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by brotherinlaw Jesse Clingan, his grand parents, and his godfather Bob Ray Soileau.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. with all night wake until time of service on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
