Myrtle Scruggins Codori

Port Barre Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Scruggins Codori, age 67, will be held at 10: 00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2007, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Fr. Nicky Trahan will officiate the mass.

Mrs. Codori was a native and life long resident of Port Barre. She died on Sunday, November 16, 2007, in her home after a long illness. Mrs. Codori was an LPN for 26 years and worked at Prompt Succor Nursing Home for the last 17 years. She was a lifetime parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be sadly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Fred W. Codori; son, Ragis Codori and wife, Jutta, of Port Barre, daughter Christine C. Fontenot and husband, Stanley, of Port Barre; three grandchildren: Nicholas Fontenot, Malorie Vidrine and husband, Dustin, and Travis Codori, all of Port Barre; four brothers: Joseph T Scruggins and wife, Betty, of Port Barre, Jerry Scruggins and wife, Pat, of Port Barre, Robert Scruggins and wife, Barbara, of Port Barre, Tommy Scruggins and wife, Gloria, of Plaquemine; four sisters: Mae Council and husband, Wayne, of Port Barre, Judy Credeur and husband, Harold, of Port Barre, Debra Ortego and husband, Danny, of Port Barre, Peggy Romero and husband, Joe, of Duson.

Mrs. Codori was preceded in death by her parents: Preston Scruggins, Sr. and Lillian Lahaye Scruggins of Port Barre; four brothers: Preston Nookie Scruggins, Jr. of Port Barre, Leon Putsie Scruggins of Port Barre, Albert Lee Scruggins of Fayettville, North Carolina, and W.J. Bill Scruggins of Arnaudville; one sister: Louella Guillory of Port Barre.

Visiting hours will be observed on Monday, December 17, 2007, in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre beginning at 4:00 p.m with an all night wake until the time of services on Tuesday.

A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday night in the funeral home.
