Murphy Dekerlegand

Opelousas- A Memorial Service will be held for, Murphy Carl Dekerlegand, on Monday, March 11, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas.

Murphy, age 50, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at his residence. He enjoyed reading his bible, making bon fires with his nieces and nephews and spending quality time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his father, Milton Dekerlegand of Opelousas; sisters, Sandra Kyser (Stanley) of Krotz Springs, and Melissa Richard (Shane) of Church Point; and Donald Beard, who was like his brother.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Dekerlegand; nephew, Michael Duplechain David; grandparents, Edward Dekerlegand, Edna Dekerlegand, Rose Deranger Sonnier, Blue Deranger and O'vey Sonnier.
