Miss Bearneace Lejeune

Opelousas Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2012, at Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA, for Mrs. Bearneace Dixson LeJeune, known to many as Miss Bea. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, LA. Rev. David Beverly will officiate the services.

Miss Bea was a native of Olla, LA, and longtime resident of Opelousas. She passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012, at Opelousas General Health System, at the age of 82.

She was the former owner of Miss Beas Income Tax Bookkeeping Services for over 28 years. She was also a member of Opelousas Bible Church for many years. She was a wonderful, loving, and caring wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband of 19 years, Joseph L. LeJeune of Opelousas son, Howard Lee Porteous and companion, Alice Gennusa of Crystal Beach, TX daughter, Jo Ann Porteous Strickland and husband, Glen of Zwolle, LA 5 stepchildren, brother, Glen Lee Dixson and wife, Bonnie of Arkansas sister, Louise D. Laird of Arnaudville grandchild, Danielle Renee Melancon of Lafayette greatgrandchildren, Lannie Melancon and Lexi Melancon, both of Leonville numerous step grandchildren and step greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Thomas Dixson, Sr. and Minnie Lambright Dixson one son, Walter J. Porteous II brothers: Wallace Grover Dixson, William Thomas Dixson, Jr., Johnny Dixson, Ira Gene Dixson, and Tommy Lewis Dixson and sisters: Pauline D. Brisco, Claudette McMillian, Dorothy Dixson Bacque, Margaret Dixson Porteous, and Shirley Jean Cahanin.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, September 27, 2012, from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. On Friday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
