Millard Pitre

Opelousas -Funeral services for Millard Pitre, age 83, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2017, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Fr. Austin Leger will officiate the services.


Millard was a resident of Grand Prairie. He died on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his family. Millard enjoyed the outdoors, sitting under his trees swinging, playing with his grandchildren, and loved his family dearly.


Survivors include his loving wife, Gloria Pitre of Grand Prairie, sons, Todd Pitre and Doyle Pitre and his wife, Cindy, daughter, Darlene Fontenot and her husband, Teddy all of Grand Prairie, sister Lenola Chelette of Washington, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lena Joubert Pitre, sister Gladys Fontenot and sister, Annette Marks.


Visitation will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel.
