Michael Dale Soileau

Opelousas- Funeral services for Michael Dale Soileau, age 58, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2009, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.

Pastor's Durlin LeJeune and Perry Hubbs conduct the funeral service.

Dale was born in Opelousas, LA and was a life-long resident of the Prairie Ronde community. He died on Thursday, July 23, 2009, at his home in the Prairie Ronde. Dale worked for 26 years as a tool pusher for Comet Drilling Company before his retirement. He enjoyed his antique cars and placing them in car shows. He enjoyed flying his remote controlled airplanes and helicopter. Dale enjoyed the outdoors and always had a project that he was working on outside. He loved his family, grandchildren and his animals. Dale was loved by everyone that knew him and will be sadly missed by everyone.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Patricia Burliegh Soileau, Prairie Ronde; sons, John Soileau and wife Cathy, Prairie Ronde, Keith Soileau and companion Selina, Prairie Ronde; brothers, Harold Lynn Soileau and wife Ivy Dale, Prairie Ronde, Carl James Soileau and wife Paula, Prairie Ronde; sister, Madeline S. Deshotel and husband John, Prairie Ronde; and three grandchildren, Brittany Soileau, Lauren Soileau, Alexis Soileau.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Gerar P. and Patricia G. Reed Soileau; maternal grandparents, Clifton and Alice Reed; parental grandparents, Henry and Deah Godeau Soileau and nephew and god-child, Daniel Gay.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, July 25, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. And will reopen on Sunday at 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
