Michael Lanclos

Michael Jude Lanclos, 46, went to his Eternal rest on Sunday, July 12, 2015.
He was born in Opelousas, Louisiana on January 6, 1969. He attended Opelousas Junior High and Opelousas Catholic.
Michael was the owner of Quality American Masonry and was a successful, skilled tradesman for 25 years. His company, along with his brother of Lanclos Unlimited and their father of Lanclos Masonry were involved in charitable works such as donating time and labor to the St. Jude Dream Home Foundation and the building of a homeless shelter in Crowley.
He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and one- time aqua farmer.
Mike was a big-hearted man who enjoyed helping others and his love of God & family was evident in everything he did. He was proud of his Cajun heritage and proudly carried on the work of his father and uncle. His grandchildren meant the world to him as did his special needs brother, who he mentored and cared for on a regular basis.
He made men's Cursillo #359 in Prairie Ronde in May 1999.
Mike leaves his wife of 28 years, Melanie Bergeron Lanclos and two sons, Mitchell Lanclos and Hunter Lanclos, and daughter-in-law, Paige Smithey Lanclos and two grandchildren:
Ave-Maria Lanclos & Elijah Michael Lanclos, Step-son, Bradford Melancon and wife, Brandy Landry Melancon and their children: Bailey, BJ, Briley and Braxton Melancon.
He is survived by his parents, Moise Lanclos, Jr. of Opelousas. His mother, Janice Vige of Opelousas and Step-mother, Sheila Richard Lanclos of Opelousas. Siblings: Kim Lanclos-Smith,
Carlton Brett Lanclos, Moise ‘Tres' Lanclos, III, Alexis Lanclos and Nicolas Quirk. And in-laws: Rodney & Sis Bergeron of Church Point.
He is preceeded in death by his paternal grandparents: Moise and Agnes Lanclos - Maternal grandparents: Raleigh & Thelma Vige, An uncle, Gilbert Vige and cousin, Andre Ariza.
Mike will be dearly missed by family, friends, employees and business associates.
Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas is in charge of all arrangements:
On Wednesday the visitation will began at 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday morning the funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Palbarers: Tres Lanclos, Mitchell Lanclos, Brad Melancon, Brett Lanclos, BJ Smith, Dustin Huval and Honarable Pall Bearers: Moise Lanclos, and Hunter Lanclos.
