The family of Michael Guidry Hebert sadly announces his death on October 29,
2012, at his home in Opelousas, Louisiana, following a brief illness.
Mike, know to his many friends as TMike and to all of his many nieces and
nephews as Nonc, was born on February 9, 1950 in Opelousas and is survived by
his children: Spring Hebert Goutro Nathan, of Opelousas Jacob Hebert Haruna Miyazaki
Hebert, Amelie Hebert, and Graham Hebert, all of Denver Colorado, his father, William Elas Hebert, of Opelousas, his siblings Tina Hebert Dean Dougie, Cathy Hebert Jackson Brad
and Billie Hebert Aswell, all of Opelousas, Chris Hebert Josie of New Iberia Marie Hebert
Wise Scotty of Minden, La Annette Hebert Artall Jeffrey of Crowley, and Matt Hebert Toni of Carencro, La three grandchildren, Claudia Goutro, Lucia Goutro and Ace Goutro, and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles far too numerous to list.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Mary Hebert and by his nephew Christopher Culbertston.
He graduated from A.I.C. in 1968 and played football and baseball for the Wildcats.
He more than made up for his for his lack of size in sports by the size of his heart and those who played with TMike remember his passion for football and baseball.
Mike graduated from U.S.L in 1974 in Education and coached and taught at A.I.C. and the St. Landry Parish public schools until he retired in 2008. Mike also obtained a law degree from Southern University Law Center in 1988 and practiced law for four years in the St. Landry Paris before returning to his passion of teaching and coaching.
TMike has a special knack for relating to people of all walks of life, and everyone
he came into contact with ended up calling him a friend.
Mike attended Queen of Catholic Church in Opelousas, Louisiana.
He loved fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
A Catholic Service will be held at the Sibille Funeral Home chapel in Opelousas,
Louisiana, on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 1:00p.m. The chapel will be open for vistation
From 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. November 2, 2012. Deacon Sammy Diesi will officiate the service.
