Merle Nezat Lindsey

Port Barre Funeral services for Mrs. Merle Nezat Lindsey, age 68, will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Father Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass.
Mrs. Merle was a resident of Port Barre. She died on Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Opelousas General Health System. She was a homemaker and a wonderful caretaker. She gave up her life in order to care for her daughter. She was a wonderful wife and a very devoted mother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Richard Terrell Lindsey one daughter, Jody Lynn Lindsey her mother, Ida Aymond Nezat two brothers: Harold Wayne Nezat and James Keith Nootsie Nezat all of Port Barre one sister, Marion Kling of Dutchtown, LA and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Nezat, Jr. and one sister, Maxine Myers.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. On Wednesday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the funeral home.
