Melton Semien

February 9, 1927 — October 5, 2013

Mallet A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2013, at St. Ann Catholic Church for Melton Semien. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the St. Ann Cemetery. Rev. Father Justin Arockiasamy will celebrate the Mass.
Melton was a resident of Mallet. He passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at his home at the age of 86.
Melton was retired from the Laborers International Union of North America after 33 years of service. He loved being outdoors where he spent countless hours tending to his farm, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mrs. Orelia Gobert Semien of Mallet, sons, Donald Semien and wife, Sandra of Moss Bluff, LA., Ernest Simien and wife, Pam of Houston, TX., daughter in law, Jennifer Semien of Opelousas, grandchildren, Steven Semien, Stephanie Haack, Cathy Hernandez, Gabrielle Semien and Matthew Semien, great grandchildren, Kaylie Semien, Abby Semien, Conner Semien, Patience Haack, and Adrian Hernandez.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Bennie and Azeline Rougeau Semien, one son, Mark Semien, brothers, Dovic, Saint Ange and Carlton Semien, sisters, Elvina Tate, and Lauvenia Rougeau.

Visiting hours will be observed in St. Ann Catholic Church on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
