Melinda Scruggins Pellerin

Port Barre Funeral services for Mrs. Melinda Scruggins Pellerin, 46, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Father Paul Metrejean will conduct the Mass.

Mrs. Melinda was born in Arnaudville and was a long-time resident of Port Barre. She died at 8:50 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 2007, in the Senior Village Nursing Home of Opelousas. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, and a devoted mother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Paul Pellerin of Port Barre; and two sons: Jeremy Paul Pellerin and Jordy Paul Pellerin, both of Port Barre.

Mrs. Melinda was preceded in death by her parents, Preston Scruggins, Jr. and Mirth Landry Scruggins; and her brother, Errol Cowboy Landry.

Visiting hours will be observed on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 from 4:30 p.m.-10 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre. On Wednesday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home.
