Mrs. DeJean was a resident of Opleousas and passed from life on Monday, November 17, 2008, at her residence after a lengthy illness.

In the days when a womans place was in the home, she found a way to contribute to the family income, by putting herself behind the wheel of her own delivery truck, selling surplus milk from her family cows. In addition to selling to family and friends, she began to sell to local grocery stores as well. The business eventually added other products and became known as Clover Farm Creamery. In her retirement, she was a gracious hostess, who loved entertaining family and friends. Whether shopping for groceries, or out for a night on the town, she was always stylishly dressed and ready for any situation that presented itself. In short, she was a true lady in every sense of the word.

Ms. Mazie was a member of the Ladies Alter Society of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and was a wonderful, loving and gentle mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is going to be sadly missed by her family, friends and those that knew her.

Fakouri Jr. and wife Michele , Carol Ann Fakouri, Michael Flusche and wife Deanna and Emile Flusche and great grandchildren, Nicholas E. Fakouri lll, Alexander E.
