Evelyn Bertrand Vige

Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Bertrand Vige , age 95, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2007, in the Opelousas Bible Church. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.

Rev. Ted Hall will officiate the services.

Mrs. Vige was a native of Prairie Ronde and a resident of Opelousas. She died at 3:01 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2007, in the Opelousas General Health System. She was the manager and a waitress of Ledoux Caf for many years. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include one son, Stanley Vige and wife, Anna Lois of Lafayette; two daughters: Shirlene Stianche and husband, Les of Cypress, TX; and Mary Ann Navarrette of Wilmington, California; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Vige was preceded in death by her husband, Elvan Vige; and her parents: John H. Bertrand and Agnes Andrepont Bertrand.

Visiting hours will be observed on Tuesday, December 11, 2007, from 4-9 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Wednesday, visitation will continue in the Opelousas Bible Church from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
