Mary Jane Stelly

Opelousas- Funeral services for Mary Jane Stelly Siegel Stelly, age 93, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2009, in the Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Internment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park.

Fr. Angelo Cremaldi the Celebrant will be assisted by Deacon Sammy Diesi during the mass.

Mary Jane was born in Arnaudville, LA. and was a long time resident of Opelousas, She died on Friday, June 5, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Stelly retired from Sears Roebuck and Co. after 30 years of service as a telephone operator. One of Mary Jane's favorite pastimes was going fishing with her husbands. Mary Jane was a member of the Women's Voluntary Fireman's Auxiliary and a member of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. She was a wonderful person who touched everyone that she came in contact with and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mourning her death yet cherishing her memories are her two sons Halbert Louis Butch Siegel and wife Karen of Monroe, LA., and Harold Drew Siegel wife Camille of Baton Rouge, and her two daughters Harriet Marie Siegel of Opelousas, and Joan A. Jolly Guidry and Husband Kent of Spring, TX. Three brothers Dolphie J. Stelly of Lafayette, Easton Stelly, of Opelousas, and John Soileau of Palmetto; 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Stelly was preceded in death by her husbands, Louis Halbert Siegel and Elie Stelly; parents, John and Alice Marks Stelly; granddaughter, Kelli Ann Ditmar; sisters, Beulah Soileau, Evelyn Fuselier, Lou Alice Hebert.

Pallbearers will be Michael Mike Siegel, Mark Siegel, Benjamin Ben Guidry, Tyler Rodgers, Harry Stelly and Gary Sanderlin.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, June 7, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Deacon Sammy Diesi will conduct a Rosary Service on Sunday Night at 7:00 p.m.
