Port Barre- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Ms. Mary Merline Richard, on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Rev. Jared Suire will celebrate the Mass.

Ms. Merline, age 80, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at her residence. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy R. Schexneider and husband, Russell of Port Barre, and Linda R. Bellard and companion, Jodie Guidry of Port Barre; son, Lester Richard Jr. of Lafayette; and grandchildren, Christopher Schexneider of Port Barre, Rebecca Lewis of Kentucky, Ashley A. Bellard of Port Barre and Derrick Martin Bellard of Port Barre; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oreus and Clarisse Noel; and her brother, Alton Noel.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Port Barre. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Friday at 8:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
