Opelousas Funeral services for Mary Soileau Manuel, 85, will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, April 11, 2007, in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum in Opelousas.

The Reverend Nicky Trahan will conduct the services.

Mrs. Mary Soileau Manuel, a native of Washington and resident of Opelousas, died at 12:29AM Monday, April 9, 2007 at Opelousas General Health System.

Mr. Edless and Mary Soileau will have celebrated 62 years of marriage on Sunday, April 15, 2007

Mrs. Manuel was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and especially grandmother and great grandmother.

She touched the lives of so many people, but her love and devotion was first to her family. Her joy of having her family visit during holidays was made evident by the feast she had prepared for each and every visit. Her passion was cooking and serving her family in the home she loved so much.

She was a devoutly spiritual woman who knew and served the Lord. Attending Mass, rosaries, prayer meetings, and reading spiritual books sustained her.
