Mary Evella Etienne

Grand Coteau Funeral services for Mary Etienne, age 87, will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery in Grand Coteau.
Rev. Johnaton Haygood will conduct the service.
Mary was a native of Prairie Basse, La., and longtime resident of Breaux Bridge. She passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2011 at her home.
Mary enjoyed cooking for her family, and working in her flower garden. She really enjoyed watching movies especially those that contained Karate Cowboy western movies, she could stay up all night watching movies. She was a wonderful pie and cake baker. Her home was open for anyone who wanted to visit and enjoy a good meal. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grand mother and great grandmother. She loved her lord and prayed each day to him and for the good of her children.
She is survived by her children James Etienne and Doris of Sunset, Sidney Charles Etienne, of Gainsville, GA., Joseph Etienne and Brenda of Broussard, David Wayne Etienne and Eva of Scott, Rose Mary Harris and Joseph of Lafayette, Betty Clement and Malcolm of Breaux Bridge, her brothers Joseph Adams of Sunset, Irvin Adams of Sunset, Cyril Adams of Lafayette, Larry Adams, of Houston Texas, her sisters Edorsey Duplechain of Sunset, Thelma Davis of Lafayette, Mary Ann Adams of Sunset, twenty three grandchildren, and thirty six great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Etienne, and her parents Peter Sr., and Lorena Savoie Adams.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Grand Coteau on Saturday, August 26, 2011, from 9 a.m. until time of service at 2:30 p.m.
