Mary Dupre

Opelousas -A Mass of Christian Burial for Della Dupre, the former Mary Della Young Dupre age 91, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April, 1, 2017, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Fr. Ted Broussard will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Prairie Ronde.

Della passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Maison de Lafayette, she was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed gardening, raising her various farm animals.
She is survived by her son, Lynden Dupre of Prairie Ronde, her daughter, Norma Schexnayder and her husband Arthur of New Iberia and Beryl Cormier of Broussard, ten grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marent and Elda Young, her husband, Chatman Dupre, son Craig Dupre, brothers, Pierre, Leas, Lannard, and Louis Young, sister, Hasa Lavergne, and one grandson, Robert K. Schexnayder.
The family requested visiting hours on Friday, March 31, 2017, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
