Mary Deanna Dohmann Chachere
Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Deanna Dohmann Chachere 66, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 13, 2008, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.
Father Angelo Cremaldi will celebrate the Mass. Music will be provided by Mona Prejean. The Readers will be Larry Jagneaux and Bonnie Wyble.
Mrs. Deanna was born April 6, 1942, in Opelousas, and was a resident of Opelousas. She passed from life on Friday, October 10, 2008, at her residence.
Mrs. Chachere was married to Mr. Alex Chachere on June 1, 1990 and they spent 18 wonderful years together. She worked for Federal Savings and Loan in Atlanta, Ga. for many years and also worked for Executone Telephone Company in their sales department. Deanna was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and daughter. She is going to be sadly missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her husband, Alex Chachere of Opelousas; her mother, Nola Trahan Dohmann of Opelousas; son, Alan Kelby Gerstle, Opelousas; brothers, Gervais Dohmann, Jr. and wife Pili, Virginia Beach, Va., Gerald Dohmann and wife Dot, Maringouin, La., Wayne Dohmann and wife Evelyn, Church Point, La., Ronald Dohmann, Sulphur, Ok., Dale Dohmann and wife Esther, Gainsvort, N.Y., Vernon Dohmann and wife Karen, St. Augustine, Fl.; sisters, Arlene Jagneaux and husband Larry, Opelousas, La., Sandra Talbot and husband Steven, Belle Chasse, La., Lenn Prince and husband Danny, Ruston, La., Verna Landry and husband Kim, Erwinville, La.; a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Deanna was preceded in death by her father, Gervais Blackie Dohmann; and brother, Ted Dohmann.
Pallbearers will be Deanna's six brothers, Gervais, Jr., Gerald, Wayne, Ronald, Dale and Vernon Dohmann. , Deanna's family would like to express a great thank you to Ms. Demorieka Thomas who was a longtime caregiver to the Chachere Family; Dr. Luis Mesa and staff; to Hospice of Acadiana, especially to Karen for the wonderful care given and to the First Name Basis sitting service; those closest to Deanna were Molly, Sara, and Jane, her sitters.
Visiting hours will be observed on Sunday, October 12, 2008, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Monday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services.
A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evening in the funeral home by Father Angelo Cremaldi.
