Leonville- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mary “Tina” Arnaud on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville. Fr. Darren Eldridge will celebrate the mass. The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Leo the Great Catholic Cemetery.
Tina, born on August 15, 1948, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, at Lafayette General Medical Center, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories and a profound impact on those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Tina was known for her vibrant personality and zest for life. A lover of adventure, she found joy in traveling to new destinations, expanding her horizons and gathering experiences that enriched her life. Her passion for exploration was matched only by her love of cooking, where she showcased her creativity and shared delightful meals with family and friends.
In addition to her travel and culinary pursuits, Mary had a fondness for the casino, where she enjoyed the thrill of games. Her hobbies were a reflection of her lively character, which drew people to her and created bonds that will resonate for years to come.
Tina is survived by her husband of 44 years, Michel Arnaud of Arnaudville; sons, Ross Taylor & wife Lana of Breaux Bridge, Tommy Taylor & wife Christine of Arnaudville, Tony Taylor of Arnaudville, and Simon Arnaud of Arnaudville; brother, Joseph Lavergne Jr. of Kinder; sister, Betty Lavergne Courville of Leonville; 13 grandchildren, Zoie Taylor, Zachary Taylor, Holden Broussard, Jacoup Taylor, Elliot Taylor, Courtney Taylor, Fayth Taylor, Nicholas Taylor, Kellie Taylor, Addison Arnaud, Dustin Metrejean, Shelby Metrejean, and Marlei Metrejean; and 8 great- grandchildren.
Tina is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Louis & Marie Eula Lavergne Sr.; and brothers, John Allen Lavergne and Joseph Arthur Lavergne.
Pallbearers for the service will be Simon Arnaud, Tommy Taylor, Tony Taylor, Ross Taylor, Elliot Taylor and Zachary Taylor.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home chapel in Opelousas. A eulogy will be held on Sunday at 5:45 p.m. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Jerome Collins, on Sunday at 6:15 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home chapel. Visitation will resume on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Tina will be remembered not only for the moments she created but also for the love and laughter she shared throughout her life. She leaves a significant impact on all who knew her, with her legacy continuing in the hearts of those she cherished dearly.
