Marvel Fontenot

OpelousasFuneral service for Marvel Fontenot will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Perry Hubbs and Rev. Leonard Rushing will officiate the service. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Marvel was a resident of Opelousas. She passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014, at Senior Village Nursing Home, at the age of 69. Marvel enjoyed going to the Council on Aging meeting and playing bingo. She was a member of the recycling for Cancer Research. She was a very strong woman who fought to live to the very end. She never met a stranger. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by sons, Charles Fontenot of Opelousas and Mitchell Fontenot of Denham Springs, her sisters, Val Lynch and Charlane Gibson both of Opelousas, two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Fontenot, her parents, Charles and Eleanor Faul Perry, her sister, Clara Elder.
A rosary service will be held on Wednesday evening in the funeral home chapel at 6:30 p.m.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Thursday, the funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
