Marlene Saizan Hardy

Port Barre Funeral services for Mrs. Marlene Saizan Hardy, age 64, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2009, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Fr. Nicky Trahan will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Readers for the Mass will be Yvonne Normand and Dr. Paula Sharkey, Offerings will be brought up by Joy Artique and Sheena Jennings.

Mrs. Hardy was a native of Bunkie, LA, and was a long-time resident of Port Barre. She died on Thursday, January 29, 2009, in the Opelousas General Health System.

Mrs. Hardy was a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved doing things for her children and grandchildren. She loved to go to the casino with her family and friends. She is going to be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Mrs. Hardy is survived by one son, Kevin J. Hardy, Port Barre; daughters, Denise L. Hardy, Port Barre, Katrina Jennings and husband Ralph, Jr., Port Barre; brother, Pete Saizan and wife Faye, Alexandria, La.; sister, Anna Spires and husband Dale, Cypress, TX.; grandchildren, Sheena Jennings, Kurt Jennings, Robert Hardy III, Megan Hardy, Desire Hardy; step grandchildren, John Dean and Lauren Hardy; great grandchildren, Gabrielle Biba, Aiden Cormier, Brennan Cormier. She is also survived by her grand puppy, Jolie.

Mrs. Hardy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Hardy, Sr.; parents, Henry and Beatrice Millagan Saizan; son, Robert Lee Hardy, Jr.

Visiting hours will be observed on Sunday, February 1, 2009, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre.

Pallbearers will be Robert Hardy III, Kurt Jennings, Shane Saizan, Sammy Hardy, Sammy Hardy III, Wesley Stoute, and John Dean. Words of comfort to the family may be expressed at www.sibillefuneralhomes.com.
