Marjorie Lee Gay Hill Rogers

Opelousas Mrs. Marjorie Lee Gay Hill Rogers, age 77, was a loving and cherished woman. She died on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at her home in Opelousas, LA.

Mrs. Marjorie was born in Franklinton, LA, and was currently residing in Opelousas. She was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of children. She was known for her love of gardening both flowers and vegetables and her famous Green Thumb.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory one son, Jay W. Rogers and wife, Gay of Jacksonville, AR; two daughters: Mary E. Sharp and husband, Hayward of Poplarville, MS; and Dorothy E. Peaches Gulino of Opelousas; one stepdaughter, who was like her own, Miriam L. Butler of Abita Springs, LA; one brother, Willis OBryant of Tennessee; two sisters: Irene Stinson and Betty Jane Storm, both of Mississippi; 20 grandchildren, many beloved great-grandchildren, and a few great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Wally Rogers; her parents: Luella Erwin Hill OBryant and Thomas F. Hill; two brothers: L. J. Hill and John O Bryant; and three step-children: T. W. Rogers, Jimmy Rogers, and Julia-Faye Ramer Meyers.
