Opelousas Memorial services for Marjorie Lacour Barrow, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. Burial will by conducted Sibille Funeral Home in Greenlawn Memorial Garden Park Cemetery on University, Lafayette, LA.
Msgr. Keith DeRouen will officiate the service.
Marjorie died in resident at Prompt Succor Nursing Home, March 15, 2011. Born May 1, 1914 Moreaville LA,
Mrs. Barrow, Toon, Marg, Maudry, Aunt Margie, as she was called, she was loved by all she met. She was a happy and fun loving Gal.
She was a retired school teacher, Education, Minster, Dorm Mother at LSU, Micro Wave Demonstrator and held many offices positions in the many teacher organizations, civic clubs, AARP and religious clubs. She had no trouble speaking before a crowd. She taught school in many, LA., Texas and France. She gave Bridge Lessons to many, in years of her many moves, she loves, Bridge, Dancing, Travel, Singing, and assisting her sisters in their time of need. She was the life of the party.
She was preceded in death, parents Herbert and Blanche Rabalais Lacour husbands Cecil Langlois and Bart Barrow, sisters Rose Gauthier, Mercedes Tassin, Lilly Watts, Evelyn Bordelon, Agnes Bordelon, Minnie Lacour, Sadie Cox and Eloise Mouton, brother Alan Lacour.
She is survived locally by, Glenda and Billy Pitre of Opelousas, and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family Thanks Prompt Succor Nursing Home employees for their loving care during her life and death.
Donations of memorial may be made to the Marianites Sisters at Prompt Succor.
