Marie Thibodeaux

Lawtell- A Catholic Mass will be held for, Marie "Ethel" Thibodeaux, on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell. Fr. Ted Broussard will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Bridget Cemetery.

Ethel, age 89, a resident of Lawtell, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Opelousas General Health System with her family by her side.

Ethel enjoyed sewing, cooking, and working side by side with her husband while raising their nine children in their family business, Thibodeaux Electric. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Calvin (Diane) Thibodeaux, Glenn (Connie) Thibodeaux, Kevin (Angie) Thibodeaux, and Kemp (Wendy) Thibodeaux; daughters, Judy (Ray) Venable, Kathy (Dewey) Godeaux, Sharon Thibodeaux, Vickie (Moses) LeDee, and Tamie (Neal) Richard; brother, Leeland Daigle; sisters, Lena Thibodeaux, Eura Pugh, Joyce (Charles) Koonce, and Dorothy (Marty) Martzall. She is also survived by 44 grandchildren, 114 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Etienne "CJ" Thibodeaux; and her parents, Arnold Daigle and Hermine Lyons Daigle.

The family requests visitation be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. (open all night) until Thursday at 12:30 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Kemp Thibodeaux, Kevin Thibodeaux, Toby Thibodeaux, Calvin Thibodeaux, Cort Thibodeaux and Raphael Venable.
