Leonville -A Mass of Christian Burial for Marie B. Taylor will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017, in the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Reverend Ken Domingue will conduct the Mass. Interment will follow at the St. Leo the Great Mausoleum.
Mrs. Taylor, age 59, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Opelousas General Health System surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Marie loved her family very much especially her grandchildren. In her early years, she enjoyed camping and boat riding with her husband. She loved to read, sing, and do needle work. Marie will be remembered as a sincere and funny woman; she was wise and often the voice of reason. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, John Ray Taylor; her sons, Marcus Taylor and wife, Brandi; Matthew Taylor; her daughter, Michele Ponson and husband, Ryan; her brothers, Seville Bergeron, Jr. and wife, Beatrice, Robert Bergeron and wife, Vivian, Rodney Bergeron and wife, Cindy; her sisters, Betty Miller, Judy Robin and Olida Credeur. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Connor Taylor, John Ross Taylor, Angelina Taylor, Jack Ponson and Ruby Ponson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Seville Bergeron, Sr. and Clementine Bergeron and her two stillborn children.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and reopen on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. until time for service. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017.
