She later attended LSU and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She taught for 34 years in the public school system in St. Landry parish, all of the years being at Cankton Elementary. She was a member of St. John Berchman Catholic Church in Cankton.

She was a very generous person and a surrogate mother to all of her nieces and nephew. She was very devoted to her many students she taught over the years.

Sibille, Jr. and wife, Dolores of Opelousas. She is also survived by her special godchild, Dana McPhearson of Mandeville and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Sibille and Louise Guilbeau Sibille; her brothers: Dr. Howard and Lowell Sa-Sa Sibille, Sr., and her sisters, Lucille Sue Sibille Landry, and Theresa Louise Sibille.

The family would like to thank the caregivers over the past few years, Mary Johnson, Shari Jeffrey, Ann Lyons, and Hazel Spence, who loved her and showed so much compassion for her. Also, a special thanks to Dr. Scott Sibille for his caring support and concern he has given the family.

Pallbearers will be Gib DeLisle, Dean McPhearson, Scott Bernard, Lowell Sibille, Jr., Michael Prejean, Alex Edmonds, and Blane Sibille, Sr.
