Port Barre A Mass of Christian Burial for Marie Suzanne Marks, 73, will be held at 10:00AM Monday, April 30, 2007, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.

The Reverend Nicky Trahan will conduct the services.

Marie Suzanne Marks, a native of Washington and longtime resident of Port Barre, died at 9:59PM Friday, April 27, 2007 at the St. Landry Extended Care Hospital in Opelousas.

Ms. Marks worked as a teachers aid at Port Barre High School for 32 years. During the 1993-94 school year Ms. Marks was honored by the St. Landry Parish School Board as the Outstanding Employee of the Year for Excellence in Education Award.

Survivors include: 2 nieces, Sharon Marks and husband Kenneth and Christine David all of Port Barre; 2 nephews, Bernie David and wife Sharon of Humble, TX and Ronnie David and wife Margie of Red Bluff, CA; 5 great nieces, Lynn, Vickie, Annie, Lauren, and Amanda; 3 great nephews, Kenny, Steve, and Marcus; 2 great great nieces, Emily and Megan; 4 great great nephews, Lee, Dustin, Matthew, and Dylan.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, William and Amy Ardoin David and two brothers, Jim and Joe David.
