Marie Leger

Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Domicile Leger, age 90, will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2012, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park. Father Austin Leger will celebrate the Mass.
She was a native of Bosco, LA, and was a longtime resident of Opelousas. She died on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at Opelousas General Health System.
She was a homemaker and worked in the Dietary Department for many years at Senior Village Nursing Home and at Opelousas Junior High School. She really treasured spending time with her family and friends. She was a lifelong member of St. Landry Catholic Church of Opelousas. As a pastime, she would enjoy listening and dancing to French Music. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include daughter, Everdia Eve Fontenot Van Zandt and husband, James of Eunice brother, Norris Leger of Scott sister, Lorisa Leger Hebert of Bosco 3 grandchildren: Bryant L. Fontenot and wife, Pauline of Ozark, Alabama Marc Fontenot and wife, Cheryl of Tallahassee, Florida and Lisa Aguillard and husband, Raymond of Eunice, LA 8 greatgrandchildren, and 2 greatgreatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Leger her parents, Willis Leger and Colastie Richard Leger three brothers, Curlis Leger, Cyrus Leger and Horace Leger, and one sister, Priscilla Leger LaHaye.
Pallbearers will be Bryant Fontenot, Marc Fontenot, Robert Fontenot, Andr Aguillard, Philippe Aguillard, and Raymond Aguillard. Honorary pallbearer will be Norris Leger.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas, on Thursday, January 26, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Friday visitation will continue in the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
